AGEC 378: Introduction to Transportation and Logistics

This course will provide the student with an introduction to transportation and logistics. Presents the role and importance of transportation, with a detailed discussion of the various modes and their specific characteristics. Covers basic logistics concepts in addition to transportation, including inventory, warehousing, and location decisions. Modes will include motor carriers, railroads, water carriers, airlines, pipelines, and intermodal transportation carriers. Real-world and empirical applications will be presented using Excel and SAS software.
